It is not known to evolve into, or from any other Pokémon.

Overview[]

At first glance, Violo may appear to be a typical Normal type that you'll just forget about because it doesn't evolve. But with access to the right TMs and Move Tutor, Violo's move pool is filled with enough surprising depth to make up for a poor first impression.

In Procyon and Deneb, it is a part Fairy type.

  • Prior to the 6th Feb 2019 update, Violo's name was Olvin.

Design Origin[]

Violo appears to be based on Lunasa Prismriver, the Poltergeist Violinist and member of the Prismriver Sisters, who performs magnificent music as part of the Prismriver Ensemble. The sisters made their debut as a boss in Perfect Cherry Blossom, the seventh official game of the Touhou Project.

Name Origin[]

Violo's Japanese name, Olivi, is a corruption of violin.

Violo's English name is a play on the words violin and viola.
